Tiger and Bear- This is a cultural project by some expats in Korea. I was asked to illustrate their flagship comic strip. In 2010, this debuted in a magazine and online in Daegu, Korea.
Comics from ROKetship, a weekly strip about the challenges that foreigners face in trying to understand Korean culture.
ROKetship ran from 2008-2010 in the Korea Herald, Groove Magazine, Baboshirts.com, TheYeogiyo.com, Expacked Newsletter, Facebook and on ROKetship.com. It is available in book form, from Lulu Press.
HA! This was a crazy project that I got involved in. My former boss had a grand scheme for promoting internal competition as a performance incentive. He devised an arch enemy for the company and wound an elaborate facade of fake emails, phone calls, websites, and enlisted me to sketch out a character for actual, Disneyland style body suits. They were debuted at a huge company function. This was SO cool!
This is a mock-up cover for a collection of webcomics that I did in 2006 called, “Rules of Engagement.” The comic ran online for 13 months, was featured in an anthology to benefit Hurricane Katrina victims, and was nominated for, “Best New Talent” award by Cartoonists Northwest Association.
